Mike

When did you join ASM?
2019.
Tell us about your experience, lived and/or working?
I started out as a support worker back in the late 1980’s and have worked for organisations such as The National Autistic Society and NHS helping to develop support and services for autistic/neurodivergent adults. Outside of ASM I am part of a Community Interest Company which employs autistic adults as trainers.

What do you value most about your work?
I mostly enjoy the relationships you build up with the people you support. It’s always great to see people progress in their careers and achieve their goals.

What are your areas of interest or expertise?
I’m knowledgeable about the processes involved in applying for adult social care support and have specific experience of setting up in self employment both as a sole trader and setting up limited companies.

When you’re not working, how do you relax, have fun etc?
I like to get outside and am a keen golfer which is my way of forgetting for a while about everything else. I also work on a couple of music festivals managing the stewarding and the general chaos.
