Returning to Work

Coming back to work after some time away can be daunting, especially if you’ve been dealing with burnout or mental health challenges. Our Returning to Work support is designed to ease that transition, rebuild your confidence, and ensure you have the right strategies to re-enter the workplace smoothly. It recognises that you might be stepping back into a familiar environment (returning to the same employer) or starting fresh somewhere new after a hiatus.

What it is

Short-term mentoring or coaching to help you return to work after time away. The focus is on rebuilding confidence, setting up a sustainable routine, and making the transition feel manageable.

Who it’s for

A good fit if you want support with:

  • Returning after illness, burnout, caring responsibilities, parental leave, or unemployment

  • Getting your confidence back after time away from work

  • Planning a realistic return, including pacing and boundaries

  • Deciding what to share at work about your needs, and how to ask for adjustments

  • Managing energy, routines, and workload in the first weeks back

  • Preparing for key conversations with your manager or HR

What to expect

  • A clear plan for your first 2 to 12 weeks back

  • Practical strategies in clear language, matched to your working style

  • Online sessions (usually 60 minutes) for ease and continuity

  • Support to prepare questions, emails, and key conversations

  • Check-ins at the points that often feel hardest, such as the first week, first feedback, and first busy period

What often changes

  • You feel more prepared for day one

  • Work feels more manageable and less draining

  • You have routines and boundaries that protect your energy

  • You have a clearer approach to adjustments and support at work
