Wellbeing

Wellbeing looks different when you're neurodivergent

At ASM, we understand that standard self-care advice doesn't always translate when you think, feel, and process the world differently. We work holistically, using neurodivergence-informed strategies built around how you actually work, not a one-size-fits-all model.

Our coaches and mentors can support you with:

  • Support for post-diagnosis processing or self-exploration - whether newly diagnosed, self-identifying, or still exploring. Understand yourself better, and learn how to share and communicate your needs with others

  • Energy accounting - to help you balance your energy and avoid overextending yourself

  • Alexithymia and interoception - developing a better connection to what's happening in your body and mind, so you can name your emotions, communicate your needs, and regulate more effectively.

  • Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) - understanding and navigating intense emotional responses to perceived rejection

  • Recognising masking behaviours - and exploring what unmasking might look like for you

  • Burnout prevention and recovery - spotting the early signs, and rebuilding capacity in a way that works with your energy, not against it

  • Understanding your sensory profile - identifying what helps you feel regulated, and what tends to overwhelm or under-stimulate you

  • Traffic light systems and sensory ladders - practical tools for regulation

  • Strengths identification and building self-worth - tools to help you recognise, embed, and communicate your strengths

  • Connection - through groups and workshops with adults who understand similar experiences

Our coaches and mentors help you understand what these experiences mean in the context of neurodivergence, and work alongside you to put practical tools in place, at your pace.

Please note: Our support is delivered by neurodivergence-informed coaches and mentors. We're not a clinical therapy or crisis service - we work practically, offering ongoing support that sits alongside those. We'd always encourage speaking to a neurodivergence-informed therapist or professional when things feel really hard.

If you're in crisis or struggling to stay safe right now, this service is not able to provide emergency support. Please contact (Samaritans on 116 123) or ) your GP/NHS 111).
